A NIGHTMARE neighbour has been jailed for smashing windows at his block of flats with a hammer.
Marcus Havard, 22, caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to Proctor House, Redcliffe.
Bristol magistrates heard how, in September last year, unemployed Havard got a claw hammer and unleashed his temper on 24 panes of glass at the ground-floor communal entrance.
In the early hours of September 4, he was stopped by police in the city centre and found with a hammer on him. He denied committing the damage in police interview, but blood at the scene contained his DNA.
On December 21, the 22-year-old was jailed for 18 weeks for the thefts. Last week, he was given another four weeks' custody for the criminal damage and ordered to pay £300 compensation.
